I want to hang myself. The only thing that keeps me going is music and a desire to not fail.
Also, I hope you fuckers are alright with me writing this paper somewhat on you guys. It’s applying concepts of social networking theory to internet forums, and Oppositelock makes up more than a few examples. Also, if my professor decides to actually follow the links, hi Professor F.!

I do! It’s just you should write what you know and all that.

Does your professor know that there’s a Wisconsin dealer selling bro trucks?

If I was allowed to put a picture on the front of the paper, that would be it.

Hopefully he’ll add another view to the ultimate ground speed check’s total.

Sociology’s still interesting, though. My double major had a strong decision sciences component, which is a cross-section of sociology, psych, and economics.

Yeah, I enjoy it. My specialization is actually criminology, so I figure that sociology goes hand in hand with that. Your education sounds pretty damn interesting, though.

The double-major was Engineering and Public Policy, and was a comprehensive program around teaching engineers how to actually understand the impact their work had on the world at large. So beyond standard policy and poli-sci there was decision science, statistics, economics and business. It was a bolt-on to a traditional engineering program, but was a full major worth of coursework even though it couldn’t technically be a major on its own. My master’s degree was through the same department and was on technology and innovation, once again a hybrid of technical coursework and more interdisciplinary stuff.

Holy fuck. That’s incredible. Never even heard of a program like that being offered. Hell, most of my engineering friends already complain about having to take ethics classes (most of my engineering friends may be super villains in training).

It’s not the most common program. I was in EPP (Engineering and Public Policy) at Carnegie Mellon, and the other program I know of is Tech and Policy at MIT...though the reason I know of that one is that I work in an office that’s maybe half a mile from the MIT campus.
